The Teaching Institute LogoThis year has been an exciting year for us at The Teaching Institute (TTI).  We have had some great medical education conferences at some pretty amazing places, including Cape Town, South Africa and Melbourne, Australia.  The rest of 2016 and 2017 promise to be just as exciting if not more so.  TTI is dedicated to helping others learn how to be better educators and committed to creativity and innovation.  Our motto is simple: better educators equals better patient care. If you haven’t been able to participate in any of our courses, it’s not too late.  You can still sign up for several of our courses that are coming up.

The Teaching Course LogoThe Teaching Course New York City (Nov. 14th – 16th, 2016)

This course has been our flagship conference that happens in November of every year. The course is open to all health care professionals (physicians, nurses, physician assistants, paramedics, etc) looking to make a difference in medical education. The overall aim of the course is to give attendees the tools necessary to change the world of medical education. If you are looking for a course filled with hour long Power Point presentations with lots of bullet points, you have come to the wrong place. In fact, we have a strict “no bullet point” policy for all of our speakers. We also offer hands-on social media/medical education labs, LiveStream broadcasting, a “Resuscitating your Power Point Slides” workshop, enhanced sessions on making your own podcast, as well as some awesome guest speakers. The course is taking place at an amazing venue called The Innovation Loft.  The space is filled with movable white boards, comfortable lounge spaces, incredible technology, toys, and yes, even a trampoline, to get those education juices flowing. In addition, there will be tons of networking opportunities with course teaching faculty and with other attendees, group dinners, and social events. And just when you think this couldn’t get any better, this year we are offering approved AMA PRA Category 1 CME credits to those taking the course. Unfortunately, this course is already sold out for 2016 but don’t worry, you can follow us on twitter under the handle @Teach_Institute or just follow the hashtag #TTCNYC16.

We will be putting on a 2-day pre-conference course that will give you the tools to effectively teach critical care resuscitation and ultrasound. There are still plenty of spots open, but they are going fast. And to sweeten the deal all teaching course attendees will be entered into a drawing to win two FREE nights at the luxurious Pueblo Bonito Sunset Resort.

Amazing stuff guys! 2 quick questions. Is The Teaching Institute part of REBELem or is it an agency that you’re working with? I can’t find any specific information about them online. Are you going to be putting on the Podcasting Course again in 2018? I have a friend, Ms. Ginger Locke from MedicMindset, who went last year and said it was awesome. Come hell or high water I’m going next time you put it on.

      Hi Sean,
The Teaching Institute is now the Teaching Co-Op. The website for this is https://www.theteachingcoop.com. REBEL EM and Teaching Co-Op are two separate entities. Both are endeavors that I work on: REBEL EM = Clinical Content and Teaching Co-Op = Medical Education Content.
As for the the Podcasting Course, our good friend Anton Helman is putting on a podcast camp which is a similar format as what we did at the podcasting course. He was the course director for it as a matter of fact. For more information on this and future courses checkout: https://www.podcastcamp.org.

      Hope this helps.
